Needed to upgrade my existing soft carrier as 11 month old now too heavy for front carrying and too tall to safely fit in carrier on my back.

After a bit of research I chose this one because it does up to 18kg which a. Meant it was unlikely to be too short for my baby and b. means I can back carry my 4yr old.

I have been using it for a while now and very happy with it. Rarely use front carrying position as kids just too heavy but love that pouch is height and width adjustable so can carry young babies – should have bought it sooner! Use hip carrying position most as need assistance to get baby on back but on hip can also breastfeed while walking – bonus!

Shoulder straps are wide and well padded so very comfortable even when crossed over your chest for back carrying – I have a large bosom so this has always been an issue. Ties are nice and long so very adjustable for different positions and height/weight of adult. Not used sleep hood yet as back of carrier been high enough to support sleeping baby but looks like it should work.

Downsides are needing assistance for putting baby in back carrying position which is disappointing as was main reason for buying new carrier but I guess this would be true for any style. Also could do with a bag to stuff it in as ties are very long and drag but it does fold up reasonably well. Would have given it 4.5 if possible but didn’t feel these niggles were worth losing a whole star for.

This is a good design, but I think their guidelines of being from 8lbs are a bit generous. Our baby is at least 11lbs now and I still feel like she’s a bit too small. I think the sling will really come into its own once she’s grown a bit more – maybe 4/5 months old.

It’s a bit tricky to tighten the wraps one handed, too.
