Kari Me Baby Carriers – a thumbs up!

by Hugabubba on August 19, 2009

kari-meKari Me specialise in innovative baby carriers, designed for comfort and safety for both baby and the ‘carrier’.  We have wanted to test one of these for a while and finally got our chance yesterday in Kew Gardens with a friend who purchased hers months back and adores it.

Kari Me is not as widely sold as most of the other carriers and slings we feature, so you may struggle to get one to test out for your self.  Basically, it’s a fabric baby carrier, made from over 90% cotton with no buckles or straps.   The Kari Me can be used from birth up to 4 years old (15kg/33lbs).  Somewhat uniquely, it has five possible carrying positions allowing front, side and back carrying. Kari Me also allows breast-feeding whilst carrying the baby.

While the Kari Me looks (from the instructions) to be a tough one to get used to; it isn’t. I was able to put it together and use the various ‘carry positions’ within around 15 minutes or so.  I loved the fact that it is 100% adjustable to your size and your babies size, so I could make it comfortable for myself quite quickly as I’m rather larger than the owner.   A definite thumbs up, you can get more information and make your purchase on the Kari Me website here.  As soon as these slings are available from more mainstream online retailers we will bring details and compare prices.
